Regular research meetings

The Center's regular research meetings are held once a month. Professors present case study reports, while graduate students involved with the Center make presentations or provide updates on their research projects.

The Center undertakes projects for the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Research with overseas institutions

The Division of Indigenous Peoples of the Far East conducts several research projects on the minority languages of the Kamchatka Peninsula. These are managed by Chikako Ono as a Subrecipient PI, in conjunction with the University of Alaska Fairbanks, University of Connecticut, and Institute of Linguistics at the Russian Academy of Sciences. The research projects have been aided by grants from US National Science Foundation.
